Barbara Ludvicek Penning is coming to the Lawrence area for her grandchild's graduation. She'll meet classmates on Wednesday, May 19, at Panera's Bakery (in mall at 23rd & Louisiana in Lawrence) at 10 a.m.

Ten '59ers met at Perkins Restaurant where the first gathering of our 50th Reunion took place. Those who attended were Sandra Hicks Stewart, Julia Walker Magna, Nancy Miller Reiling, Nancy Vogel, Karen Stuart Heeb, Kay Franz Hodge, Sue Squires Midyett, Ruth Bramble Humphrey, Sherri Dobbins Millsap and Karen Coffman Davis.

December 2009 Second Wednesday
Ten 59ers met at Karen Heeb's for a holiday Second Wednesday gathering to share white elephant gifts. Thirteen '59ers gathered Oct. 14 at The Cheese Factory on the Plaza in Kansas City. Those attending were Karen Coffman Davis, Sandra Hicks Stewart, Mary Kirby LaRue, Mary Hammig, Delores Harris Stonestreet and Michele Shultz Fate from the Kansas City area; Helen Chavez Martinez, Karen Stuart Heeb, Sherri Dobbins Millsap, Debbie Grinstead Beene, Vida Ingerson Death and Sue Squires Midyett from Lawrence; and Ruth Bramble Humphrey from Wichita.

June 2009 Second Tuesday
Second Tuesday met at Madame Hatter's Tea Room in Eudora June 10 (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m. The gathering was moved to Wednesday because Barbara Ludvicek Penning was in Olathe then and joined us.
At Madame Hatter's Wednesdays are “discount days” which means the full meal (tea beverage, garden salad, entree with choice of side and dessert) will be $10. Seven of us gathered at Figlio's on the Plaza in Kansas City and had a delightful lunch topped by lively conversation with more than a sprinkling of laughter.If you weren't there, you were missed. —Sherri

Sandy Miller Mueller was in the area from Dallas and visited with about 12 classmates at the Oct. 14 Second Tuesday gathering. Unfortunately no one brought a camera so there isn't a photo.
